Is TikTok a threat?

TikTok is considered one of the most powerful social media that exist nowadays, it has grown potentially in the last 2 years if one of the first consumer-facing apps in the whole world. But is TikTok a threat to society?

Governments from a lot of nations have the eye TikTok because of many reasons:

-        Is a Chinese company that has the biggest user data information and can end up in the wrong hands.

-        The format is extremely addictive. It allows not users to make videos using different tools and record them into very professional-looking short films. It also doesn’t require a network, you do have to search, and not even log in, you just have to scroll and automatically the algorithm will provide the viewers with what they like.

-        It's also fast monetizing attention from the viewers and is expecting to attain almost 24 billion in 2024 for advertising.

The scariest thing about TikTok is that is one of the platforms that hoovers up customer's information, such as phone numbers, usage patterns, location, tracking third parties and more, and what the government is most afraid of is about me that china’s government has information of people all around the world because of their billion of users. That is why governments of some counties are banning TikTok society because of all the information that China is gathering about the whole world.
